What To Pack When You Come To Maine

Part of the joy of staying in a vacation rental is the comforts of home! Here are some things to add to your packing list that you may not have thought of:

For the House

  •  Reusable Grocery bags — Maine has banned single-use plastic shopping bags (they’re also great for the beach!)
  •  Paper Towels & Toilet Paper — there will be a starter set at the house for you
  •  Linens (sheets and towels) if not provided (the amenities list of each home will tell you if you need them)

Essentials

  •  Toiletries
  •  Sunscreen, Bathing Suit, Sunglasses
  •  An extra layer for cooler evenings (or being out on a boat)
  •  Raincoats, Hats, and Umbrellas
  •  Good walking shoes, with good tread — especially if you’re going boating!
  •  A Leash and poo bags if you’re bringing your furry friends
  •  Milfoil Sticker (if you’re going to launch a boat on freshwater)

Other Suggested Items

  •  Beach towels and beach chairs
  •  Camera & extra memory card
  •  Fishing Equipment
  •  Binoculars — we have lots of birds and wildlife to spot!
  •  Bluetooth Speaker
  •  Good hiking shoes — Maine has lots of amazing hiking trails for all ages and abilities
  •  Your own life jackets. Even if a homeowner is supplying the kayak, please bring or rent Personal Flotation Devices that are fitted to you.
